For the last few years members of our family have been extremely helpful to me, when I have needed them. I´m a solitary person, generally. How else could I be an author? We all need quiet time to be able to write.
However, when there is a need for encouragement through illness, depression etc., Solitude is not the anser.
One member of the family in particular helped me yesterday in an unexpected way, so these few lines, a poem of one verse only are dedicated to him.
Your love is so sweet,
Nothing compares.
Whenever I need you,
You´re aways there.
No-one is like you,
I mean this sincerely,
You are someone unique,
And your love so sweet.

A New Day Dawns
It was with great excitement that I found on my facebook page, today November 22nd 2012 this wonderful idea from Steve Mitchell and Slicethepie.
I have been writing on hubpages for 3 years and loved it. I will continue to wrte on hubpages, but to have something new is great.
My blog, ShiningThrough being nw linked to my Google plus account just will make things moother, I hope. In fact I have wondrous hope and faith in this new setup.

For as Long as You´re walking This Earth
For as long as you´re walking this earth, I´m beside you.
If not, then I´m walking behind you.
Walking behind you, is no disgrace,
Practical reasons there are in our case.
For as long as you´re walking this earth, I´m beside you.
Or walking behind you. Your legs move much faster,
I cannot keep up, but standing just causes you pain,
Standing more painful than walking,.
So on a good day, I´m walking beside you,
On a bad day I´m trailing behind.
But only my body is walking behind you,
My heart´s right up there at your side,
For as long as you´re walking this earth, I´m beside you.
My body,
My heart.,
My All.,
If not, then I´m walking behind you.
Walking behind you, is no disgrace,

Why I call my site Shining Through
A dear friend, Jáime Rubio , who writes some amazing stories , true stories, calls her site Dreaming Casually.
I´ve never asked her why this title, but I often wonder.
Has anyone seen the film caled Shining Through?? Michael Douglas and Melanie Griffiths star in it.
The first time I saw it , it blew me away. Now, I don´t know how many times I´ve watched it , but there is still one scene where the lump comes into my throat, my brain leaves the room....... and even though I know what´s coming next, I often find myself sobbing through this one particular scene.
The film is set in World War 2. Melanie griffiths is in a very difficult position as far as the Nazis are concerned, when Michael Douglas said ´´I should never have let you go...´ I knew immediately what he meant in the context of the film and burst into tears, accordingly.
The Melanie Griffiths character, however, doesn´t quite realise what he means , so he has to repeat. ´No, I mean.. I should never have let you go...´´´ Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw! Sob.!
It has been my favourite film of all time since it was made in, I think the 1980s.
That´s why I decided to call my site Shining Through, and although I sometimes write ´dark´poetry, this site is for only happy , optimistic things. Even a sad poem will have a light at the end of the tunnel shining through.

Treasure Found At An Early Age
To me , dear friend, you always were a Rock.
A Rock withstanding every test of time.
You were the Beacon in my darkest night,
Yet, cruelest critic of my every crime.
You were the warmest glow of all my youth,
Tenacious treasure from a tinsel world.
The depth of feeling I now hold so dear,
Became apparent as our lives unfurled.
Now, when I think of all you meant to me,
Of all the times you were my comfort, when....
I fell , uncertain into ventures new.,
I know you now mean more to me than ever then.

If I Ever Had To Live Without You
Where would I be and what would I do,
Without you?
Would I be indepenent, live a full life,
Without you?
Would I have happy days, meeting friends,
for lunch, or dinner, and sometimes theatre?
Would I change my long hair
If you were not there?
Just WHAT would I do without you?
I´d be free as a bird to go where I want to,
Buy lots of new clothes, to go with new hairdo,
Is that what I really wuld do?
If I had to live without you.
OR Would I return to the shy teenage girl,
You helped blossom out to a woman?
And quietly try to live through the day,
With nothing to say,
Without you.
Would I feel insecure without your strong arms,
Protecting me year after year?
With soothing reminders that ´´It´ll be alright´´
As you comfort me through all my fears.
What would I be like without you?
I think that my days would be dark as a pit,
For my reason to live would have vanished,
For so long you have been, the Rock of my Dreams,
I cannot imagine....................Without you.....
I cannot imagine one day would go by,
Without me hugging your spirit.
Pretending you´re here, as you´ve always been,
Hugging a ghost, a phantom, a dream..
Yes, That´s how I´d be without you.
I´d find it hard to let go, to put on a show,
Pretend to the world, I´m OK.
No, Love of my life, if I had to live
With only myself, and you´re gone.
There´d be no life for me, my eyes would not see,
For permanent tears, they would blind me.
It´s silly for me to dwell on such things,
You tell me the glass is ´´half full´´.,
And always will be ... If I let it be,
My life could go on
Without you.
But barely a life, existence, more like,
My feelings reverting inside me.
For I´d find it so hard to be ´half of me´
Yet live like a person who is whole.
No, I think it would be a quiet world for me,
Alone with my thoughts and my memories,
If ever I have to live,
Without you.
Without you?
Would I be indepenent, live a full life,
Without you?
